SUMMER WHITE SANGRIA
Summer is practically here and it’s the perfect time for SUMMER WHITE SANGRIA!
Heat has arrived and it’s taking it’s course to prepare us for the long hot days ahead. Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock or hiding from the rain (like us!) you’ve been feeling the humidity.
When this weather normally rolls into Winston Salem all we want is to be refreshed and cool down. We have to escape the heat somehow but we still enjoy sitting in the sun and being outside breathing fresh air.
And then this Summer White Sangria saves us and is the most refreshing thing we’ve put to our lips recently.
Full of fresh sliced fruit and freshly squeezed fruit juice from lemons, limes, and oranges, this Sangria is so flavorful. Sweetened with fine white sugar and sparkled with ginger ale, this summer cocktail comes to life. Summer White Sangria is made with a dry white bottle of Pinot Grigio wine and garnished with lemonade ice cubes.
What’s wonderful about this Summer White Sangria is that after the first batch is made and all the fruit is prepped and soaked, the cocktail keeps on giving! Once the first bottle of wine sangria mixture is gone, pour another bottle into the same fruit and finish with some ginger ale. It will taste slightly different and not as sweet or have as much fruit juice mixed in but it’s the perfect way to reuse the fruit you spent all that time slicing up!
Soaked fruit after the sangria is the best part, don’t forget!
In Winter, use a bottle of red wine rather than white wine for a twist on this recipe.
Or make this sweeter Red Wine Sangria instead!
