SMOKED SALMON CREAM CHEESE SPREAD
I am just going to preface this post with the fact that I forgot my d3100 camera and had to improvise with AU’s new awesome phone. The pictures are not terrrrrrible but they’re also not what I usually try to do (all in all they get the idea across).
Salmon and cream cheese are two of my favorite food items to put onto a bagel. I love salmon and cream cheese bagels.
This is the next best thing.
This salmon spread has dill in it and we all know that’s basically my second favorite herb (next to cilantro).
The best thing about this spread is that it is all in one, you don’t have to get salmon fishy smell all over your hands and you don’t have to spread the cream cheese separately.
This delicious spread is all mixed together and good to go!
It’s a really easy mixture of cream cheese, horseradish, sour cream, lemon juice, and of course a lot of fresh smoked salmon (does that count as fresh?). I don’t even care, it is so good!
I love this spread on bagels mostly but I guarantee it would be just as scrumptious on toast, toasties, little crostini, or even crackers.
You will not be able to mess this one up and it is perfect for any party or even fun breakfasts. We had this on bagels for Christmas morning and we all gobbled it down.
I would suggest fresh dill for this recipe because of the extra flavor, but if all you have is freeze dried just go for it. Toss in a little extra if you’re feeling bad!
The flavors in this spread also come from the sharpness in the horseradish that mix well with the creaminess and mild flavors of the cream cheese and sour cream. The flavors counteract each other and just melt in your mouth.
This recipe has a lot of salmon in it. I have increased the amount because I just could eat salmon all day everyday. If you want less of the salmon use 8-10 ounces instead of the 12.
I hope you love it as much as I do, it’s addicting so watch out!
