CHOCOLATE MOLTEN LAVA CAKE (SLOW COOKER)
What a title huh? It’s all that and a bag of potato chips ;)
It’s a cake with pudding and then chocolate chips. It’s for chocolate lovers and it almost tastes like a slice of heaven. This dessert was the bomb dot com…
Why you ask? Because I made it in a crockpot! How cool is that. And easy as always.
This recipe came from dun dun dun duuuuunnn: Pinterest.
But I slightly changed the recipe ingredients. And I had to cook the dessert much longer than originally stated.

This recipe is fun because it consists of some layering. First you layer the cake mix, then you layer the pudding, and then you top it off with chocolate chips galore!
Layer layer layer.

Chocolate lava cake
ingredients:
1 devils food cake mix
1 devils food pudding mix (instant)
1 1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup whipping cream
1 bag chocolate chips
directions:
1. Line a crockpot with wax paper and spray with spray & cook
2. In a medium sized mixing bowl combine cake mix, 1 1/4 cups milk, eggs, and veggie oil
3. Mix with an electric hand mixer or beater until all lumps are gone
4. Layer in bottom of crock pot
5. Combine pudding mix, 1 cup milk, 1 cup cream in the same bowl
6. Mix with the same mixer until smooth and thickened
7. Layer on top of cake mix
8. Cover the top with chocolate chips (I used a mixture of semi-sweet chips and milk chocolate chips)
9. Turn to low, cover and cook for 3 to 3.5 hours until the top is set almost like a cake (it will be kind of gooey and not hard because of the pudding)
{chocolate chip mixture layer}
See so many layers! This dessert is pretty amazing because the chocolate chips sink to the bottom and the cake rises to the top. They do a little flip flopping in the crock pot.
Serve with some delicious vanilla ice cream (mines 1/2 the fat Edy’s). Just so I can enjoy it and not feel incredibly bad & indulgent.
