SIX LAYER BARS

Jump to recipe

Welcome to AU’s most favorite dessert ever; SIX LAYER BARS.

Is anyone out there still baking even though Christmas is over?! In our opinion, baking should never end!

You might think that this recipe name is incorrect BUT it is not.
These are Six Layer Bars and not Seven Layer Bars.

Shredded coconut is the seventh layer that is not present in these bars.

Why?

AU does not like coconut so we make them without. However, you can make them with coconut very easily if you prefer!

See instructions below with and without coconut flakes.

Six Layer Bars are probably the easiest dessert on ALF, but trust me they are one of the most flavorful!

Sweetened condensed milk is poured on a graham cracker crust and then topped with:

  • chocolate chips
  • butterscotch chips
  • white chocolate chips
  • pecan nuts

It’s perfectly sweet with tons of flavor and crunch with the perfect buttery base. Once the condensed milk settles, the Six Layer Bars can be cut into perfect squares.

Get ready for your mouth to water from the condensed milk browning in the oven on all the edges. And prepare your taste buds for the best combination; salty sweet, the salted pecans are the perfect topper.

We make this fantastic dessert all the time because it’s so fast and literally so easy.

Once the crackers are crushed and formed, the rest of the ingredients are piled on top of each other and baked for just 25 minutes.

After baking the Six Layer Bars just have to set and then you are ready to go!

Much love,
