POWDERED SUGAR WEDDING COOKIES

Remember those cookies I kept referring to in the raspberry lemon cheesecake blog post…? Wait no longer because here they are!

These are the real deal, they were not served at a wedding in this occasion but they were served at a tea.

One of my favorite things to do is have people over for tea, I absolutely love it. I love preparing the tray with my grandmothers 5th generation beautiful blue china tea set and my other grandmothers silver forks and spoons. It looks so beautiful with my white tea pot, sugar bowl, and milk jar.

It makes me feel at home, considering that I grew up with an english tea every weekend and a mother who AU nicknames “the hostess with the mostest”. I guess it is in my genes!

These powdered sugar cookies were the perfect compliment to my English breakfast steaming tea pot.

When you bite into these cookies you will immediately think oh shortbread?? Cause that is what I think. But the cookies are made up of mainly ground pecans but they do resemble a shortbread once baked.

When you are rolling the dough into balls the dough will most likely stick to your fingers but just smoosh it back and brush it of your shoulders, your dough balls will not be perfectly round. Mine were definitely not!

My last tip to you will be to cool your cookies only slightly, I suggested 5 minutes. They need to still be warm, but not hot, to have the powdered sugar stick to them. If they are too hot the sugar will melt and stick together (which is what happened to me). Do not let them cool completely because you will miss your sugar window.

Enjoy these simple tasty cookies. And don’t forget to share!
