My absolute favorite dessert hands down has to be Ice Cream.
And like all foods I love, I LOVE being able to create my favorite desserts at home.

This Summer I’m all about this NO CHURN HOMEMADE ICE CREAM WITH CHOCOLATE PIECES.

It’s so creamy and delightful.

Growing up my Mom used to make homemade ice cream and it was one of my absolute favorite things.
Every time she made her homemade ice cream was like it was the best day ever.
There is something about HOW creamy homemade ice cream is; it has a softer consistency, it’s never icy and it’s alway amazingly luscious.

When we started celebrating Thanksgiving in the US, one of the South African desserts that was always brought to share was homemade ice cream; a plain vanilla version and one with chocolate pieces in it. I looked forward to it every single time and I was adamant about having a scoop or two of the perfect ice cream I could savor only once a year.

That incredible ice cream I loved so much inspired me to create this ice cream and this recipe post!

Pairing a creamy vanilla smooth base of ice cream with a delicious high quality chocolate with crispy pieces in it makes for the absolute best combination.

We used our favorite chocolate from Aldi- Moser Roth Toffee Crunch Chocolate Bars. Not only is the chocolate super luxurious but the crunchy toffee gives the ice cream an entire new dimension of flavor, crunch, and texture.

Any chocolate in this would be absolutely delightful, you cannot mess this up. Some other chocolate ideas are White Chocolate Cookie, Hazelnut Crunch, Mint Crisp (my favorite other option!!), MnM’s, or even Sea Salt Caramel.

Feels like I need to try all of those options at some point, how many weeks of Summer are left?!

And to be honest making No Churn Homemade Ice Cream at home is literally so easy. It might be the easiest recipe we’ve ever shared. It’s definitely a beginner recipe that you cannot fail and it ALWAYS and I mean always tastes delicious.

No churning, no crazy ingredients to make it set (just a freezer!), and no ice cream machine required; this is the easiest way to get your Summer ice cream treat at home.

NO CHURN HOMEMADE ICE CREAM WITH CHOCOLATE PIECES

Ingredients

  • 2 CUPS HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM
  • 10 OZ SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
  • 1 TEASPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 1/3-1 CUP CHOCOLATE PIECES (MOSER ROTH TOFFEE CRISP CHOCOLATE) CHOPPED

Instructions

  • USING A STAND MIXER OR HAND HELD MIXER, WHIP HEAVY WHIPPING CREAM AND VANILLA TOGETHER UNTIL STIFF PEAKS FORM. MAKE SURE IT'S NOT OVER WHIPPED, YOU DON'T WANT IT TO START LOOKING CHUNKY LIKE BUTTER.
  • POUR IN CONDENSED MILK AND WHIP UNTIL JUST COMBINED.
  • ADD YOUR CHOPPED CHOCOLATE, START WITH LESS AND ADD MORE AS NEEDED FOR YOUR DESIRED CONSISTENCY. WE USED LESS, ABOUT 1/3 CUP CHOPPED CHOCOLATE PIECES FOR A CREAMIER ICE CREAM. STIR CHOCOLATE IN WITH A SPOON OR SPATULA, DON'T USE STAND MIXER OR HAND MIXER.
  • TRANSFER ICE CREAM TO A LOAF PAN AND COVER WITH PRESS N SEAL AND THEN A LAYER OF TIN FOIL.
  • FREEZE OVERNIGHT UNTIL SET!

And I couldn’t not share my cutie pie helper who absolutely loves this ice cream just as much as his Mama.
