M N M OATMEAL COOKIES
I finally got to make my intense craving of the week…. oatmeal chocolate cookies.
My chocolate was….
M N M’S!
This idea came from giant rainbow cookies. I tried the whole giant and m n m thing.
Failed the “giant” part (my cookies came out square). Giant square cookies.
I made them too large and put too many cookie dough balls on one tray.
They melted and stuck together.
Squares.
But I love all the colors. And I chose normal sized m n m’s instead of minnies because I wanted BIG m n m’s with BIG cookies.
I ate soooo much cookie dough!!
Note.. those cookie dough balls are too big! Unless you want square cookies…
I also used another recipe off line which looked simple enough but I substituted my m n m’s for chocolate chips…
Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
I had a glass of milk with these cookies and I dont usually do a whole glass of milk.
I have to eat them as soon as they come out the oven and have cooled for a minute. It is something I do every time I bake cookies. Strange but yummy. They taste so much better warm!
The recipe I used was to make the sugar and butter mixture in one bowl and then make the flour mixture in another. When you add the flour mixture into the butter it makes the dough super fluffy and super delicious. (why I ate so much of it…)
I even used How Sweet It Is idea and flipped over my cookie to look at the “rainbow” effect. So cool! She calls them “cookie butts”.
These cookies luckily satisfied my craving after I had it for a week.
I’m weird like that. I find something to crave and have that craving until I eat it or make it. (This is normally for sweet things, but on occasion I crave some salty food).
Mhmmmm. I had to take a bite.
m n m oatmeal cookies
one cup butter
one cup sugar
one cup brown sugar
two large eggs
two tablespoons milk
two teaspoons vanilla
two cups flour
one teaspoon baking soda
one teaspoon salt
two and half cups oats
two cups normal sized m n m’s
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line baking sheets with parchment paper (not wax paper, almost mad that mistake).
In a big bowl combine butter and both sugars, cream. Add one egg at a time, continue to beat. Add milk, add vanilla.
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture to make it fluffy.
Stir in oats then m n m’s.
Bake for 10 to 13 minutes.
Cool for 1 to 2 minutes.
There it just something about oatmeal and chocolate in a cookie.
Find out for yourself!
