HONEY SESAME CHICKEN
Honey Sesame Chicken for the nights you need something quick, fast, super delicious, and easy for dinner.
This recipe right here is for you tonight and for every night this week, just kidding obviously on the last part!
But really, this Honey Sesame Chicken is a slower cooker delight and you barely have
to do any work. Does it ever honestly get any better than that for dinner? I think not.
Slow cooker recipes are one of the best ways to do a meal in my opinion.
Favorite is not even the best way to describe it, absolute best favorite recipe is more like it
because it’s not a long slow cooker recipe, but a shorter one that cooks for just 2 hours!
You can make this on a regular night, after work, or even on the weekend
because you don’t need a full 8 hours for everything to cook up and combine.
Honey Sesame Chicken is made with a short happy list of ingredients.
The sauce is made with:
-honey (duh!)
-soy sauce
-sesame oil
-garlic
-ketchup
-rice vinegar
-and cornstarch (for thickening)
It’s mixed beforehand and poured all over the chicken in the slow cooker and then it’s ready to go!
The sauce cooks until it forms a nice thick sweet syrup (just like Take Out!), it’s really the best.
Sesame seeds are the real stars here, you literally need to coat all the chicken and all the sauce in seeds.
There is no other way.

FOR A 6 QUART INSTANT POT YOU NEED AT LEAST 1 CUP OF LIQUID

Ingredients
CHICKEN (SLOW COOKER):
- 3 CHICKEN BREASTS, BONELESS & SKINLESS, CUT INTO CUBES
- 1/3 CUP CORNSTARCH
- 2 TABLESPOONS VEGGIE OIL
SAUCE (SLOW COOKER):
- 1/2 CUP COLD WATER
- 2 TABLESPOONS CORNSTARCH
- 1/3 CUP SOY SAUCE
- 2 TEASPOONS SESAME OIL
- 6 TABLESPOONS HONEY
- 2 TEASPOONS GARLIC, MINCED
- 2 TABLESPOONS KETCHUP
- 1 TABLESPOON RICE VINEGAR
- 1 TEASPOON SRIRACHA
- S&P TO TASTE
- SESAME SEEDS
CHICKEN (INSTANT POT):
- 3 CHICKEN BREASTS, BONELESS & SKINLESS, CUT INTO CUBES
- 1 TABLESPOON VEGGIE OIL
SAUCE (INSTANT POT):
- 1/2 CUP SOY SAUCE
- 2 1/2 TEASPOONS GARLIC, MINCED
- 1/4 CUP KETCHUP
- 1 TABLESPOON RICE VINEGAR
- 1 TEASPOON SRIRACHA
- 8 TABLESPOONS HONEY
- 2 1/2 TEASPOONS SESAME OIL
- 3 TABLESPOONS CORNSTARCH + 3 TABLESPOONS WATER
- SESAME SEEDS
- S&P TO TASTE
Instructions
SLOW COOKER:
- CUBE CHICKEN INTO PIECES, TOSS IN A LARGE ZIPLOC BAG WITH CORNSTARCH
- SHAKE CLOSED BAG UNTIL CHICKEN IS COATED IN CORNSTARCH
- HEAT OIL IN A LARGE SAUTE PAN AND COOK CHICKEN UNTIL JUST STARTING TO BROWN, ABOUT 2 MINUTES EACH SIDE
- PLACE IN THE SLOW COOKER AND CLICK "LOW" HEAT
- COMBINE CORNSTARCH AND WATER WITH A WHISK, ADD IN SOY SAUCE, SESAME OIL, HONEY, GARLIC, KETCHUP, S&P, AND RICE VINEGAR
- POUR THE SAUCE OVER THE CHICKEN AND COOK ON LOW FOR 2 HOURS
- GARNISH WITH SESAME SEEDS AND SERVE WITH RICE
INSTANT POT:
- CUT CHICKEN INTO CUBES
- ADD OIL TO INSTANT POT AND CLICK "SAUTE" ON MEDIUM
- ADD CHICKEN AND COOK UNTIL LIGHTLY BROWNED ON EACH SIDE, 1-2 MINUTES
- POUR SOY SAUCE, GARLIC, KETCHUP, SRIRACHA, RICE VINEGAR, S&P OVER CHICKEN
- STIR, CLOSE LID AND CLICK "MANUAL" HIGH PRESSURE FOR 3 MINUTES
- ONCE INSTANT POT TIMER BEEPS, QUICK RELEASE PRESSURE BY VENTING TO "RELEASE" (BE CAREFUL)
- OPEN THE LID AND CLICK "SAUTE" SET FOR 5 MINUTES
- ADD THE HONEY AND SESAME OIL
- MAKE A SLURRY WITH THE CORNSTARCH AND WATER IN A SEPARATE SMALL BOWL, MIX AND ADD TO THE INSTANT POT
- USING A WOODEN SPOON MIX CHICKEN AND SAUCE UNTIL THICK, IT MIGHT NOT TAKE A FULL 5 MINUTES TO THICKEN, WATCH AND KEEP STIRRING
- GARNISH WITH SESAME SEEDS & SERVE WITH RICE
- TURN OFF INSTANT POT AND REMOVE INNER POT SO IT DOES NOT KEEP COOKING OR BURN ON THE BOTTOM
