EASY SMOOTHIES

I love smoothies. Normally they have to be creamy, fruity, sweet, and not include banana.

Most times I order a smoothie, I always get non fat yogurt or non fat frozen yogurt in it. I love the creaminess from dairy that gives that little kick but doesn’t cost massive amounts of fat/calories.

And it makes me think that I’m really drinking a milkshake.

I mean that’s the whole goal of a smoothie right, a fake milkshake? At least in my mind it is.

I first got onto this smoothie train for new breakfast ideas that didn’t include granola. Kinda got over that granola kick that I was having here and here.

I wanted a fresh smoothie taste but I wasn’t really interested in buying a lot of fruit for it because I knew it would just go bad in a few days.

I found the idea on pinterest to use frozen fruit and to freeze non fat greek yogurt in an ice cube tray.

Genuis I tell you.

It doesn’t really get simpler than that. I combined different fruit into little baggies and paired frozen yogurt cubes with them. Put them into my freezer and they’re ready for a quick, fast, healthy breakfast or snack on the weekends.

I love all the variations I was able to get with my frozen fruit smoothies:

pineapple, berry pineapple, berry mango, berry mango pineapple, mango pineapple, or just berry! I was able to get that many variations with just three types of frozen fruit!

I’d love to know some variations you all come up with, the options are endless with all the fresh frozen fruit that is available.
