CREAM CHEESE STUFFED FRENCH TOAST

Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast always feels like (and looks like) such a luxurious brunch option.

But it’s totally not!!

You can make it at home so easily with just a few ingredients.
Most of them you probably already have in your pantry.

And once it’s topped with maple syrup, powdered sugar and some fresh fruit; you’ve got a gourmet breakfast or brunch at home in minutes.

Since we’ve all been spending more time at home lately and less time in restaurants, brunch out has been missed. Who else has been missing the good ol’ brunch days with mimosas and delish food?!

Can’t just be us?!

Like classic french toast, this Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast is dipped in egg and then fried until golden brown. The egg mixture is elevated with cinnamon, a little sugar, and some milk to be extra flavorful.

Sweetened cream cheese in the center is just that; softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract. It’s dipped with the bread in the egg mixture and gets all gooey and soft once heated.

But what makes this french toast the most spectacular is the bread sandwiching the cream cheese. Brioche bread is like a pillowy cloud golden yummyness, perfect for french toast. It’s nice and thick and has an amazing consistency that doesn’t get soft once dipped in the eggs. It also gets a nice crispness once cooked and it’s just the best.

Aldi has the most amazing pre-sliced loaf of it, that’s what we’ve used here.

CREAM CHEESE STUFFED FRENCH TOAST

Ingredients

  • 12 PIECES SLICED BRIOCHE BREAD
  • 8 OZ CREAM CHEESE, 1/3 LESS FAT SOFTENED
  • 1/3 CUP POWDERED SUGAR
  • 1 TABLESPOON VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 3/4 CUP SKIM MILK
  • 1 TEASPOON WHITE GRANULATED SUGAR
  • 1 TEASPOON CINNAMON
  • 2 LARGE EGGS

Instructions

  • COMBINE SOFTENED CREAM CHEESE, POWDERED SUGAR AND VANILLA UNTIL FULL BLENDED, YOU CAN WHIP WITH A HAND BEATER OR STAND MIXER TO MAKE IT FLUFFY!
  • IN A SHALLOW BOWL, WHISK EGGS AND ADD IN CINNAMON, SUGAR, AND MILK. WHISK UNTIL FULLY COMBINED.
  • SPREAD MIXTURE ON 6 PIECES OF SLICED BRIOCHE BREAD EVENLY. SANDWICH TWO PIECES TOGETHER (ONE WITH CREAM CHEESE SPREAD AND ONE WITHOUT), SET ASIDE.
  • DIP BRIOCHE SANDWICHES WITH CREAM CHEESE FILLING INTO EGG MIXTURE. DIP QUICKLY TO COAT BOTH SIDES BUT DON'T LEAVE IN MIXTURE FOR TOO LONG OR IT WILL GET TOO SOGGY. WORK GENTLY WITH THE SANDWICHES AS WELL.
  • USING A SKILLET OR FLAT PAN, COAT WITH COOKING SPRAY. COOK SANDWICHES ON MEDIUM UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ON EACH SIDE AND RAW EGG MIXTURE IS COOKED.
  • GARNISH WITH POWDERED SUGAR, MAPLE SYRUP AND BLUEBERRIES. WHIPPED CREAM OR VANILLA ICE CREAM WOULD TAKE IT ANOTHER LEVEL!
