CHOCOLATE CHIP CREAM CHEESE DIP
Chocolate is so good.
I cannot go a day without eating chocolate of some kind: milk chocolate preferably but I’ll settle for
white chocolate on most days.
I think I inherited this from my mom, she also eats chocolate every day (I think).
It’s like that phrase you probably know… something salty then something sweet.
I’ll be sitting at my desk in the afternoon and the chocolate craving will kick in. I can’t focus or think about
anything else until I grab some chocolate and satisfy my craving.
Some days I’ll even venture out to the vending machine and watch my Fast Break drop down into the dark
hole, it is an amazing feeling. But then I think I wish we didn’t have chocolate at work because then I
might not eat it as much.
In all honesty I’d probably head out to Sheetz and grab one anyways…
This is starting to sound like a problem.
However, my chocolate of choice today is this creamy chocolate chip cream cheese dip. It is rich (only
in the best of ways), filled with little baby mini chocolate chips, tart with 1/3 less fat cream cheese (of course),
and sweetened with two types of sugar: powdered and sugar in the raw.
The only two sugars you really need in my opinion.
You need a hand mixer and a bowl for this whipped creation. Yep it’s easy and care free and it literally
whips up in a few minutes.
This recipe originates from my mom. It’s one of my favorite desserts to make on the fly, it whips up quickly
and the ingredient list is short, as it should be.
One of things I absolutely love about this dip is that you let the cream cheese and butter soften, and it
whips up literally like fresh whipped cream. But there is no cream in it!
There is something so lavish about spreading something whipped on a graham cracker. It’s totally satisfying
when it’s smooth and creamy and goes one with ease with your little baby spreader knife.
Wait, is that just me?
